Come ormai consuetudine, la rivista Out magazine ha redatto una lista di quelli che reputano i 65 gay dichiarati più influenti al mondo.
Sul gradino più alto del podio troviamo Tim Cook, l'uomo che ha preso in mano le redini della Apple dopo la scomparsa di Steve Jobs, a cui segue la presentatrice statunitense Ellen Degeneres (conduttrice del talk show "Hellen") e il magnate della finanza Peter Thiel (fra gli altri incarichi, anche CEO e co-fondatore di PayPal).
Le altre posizioni della top 10 sono occupate da Ryan Murphy (scrittore e regista), Rachel Maddow (conduttoire televisivo e commentatore politico), Anderson Cooper (giornalista televisivo), Rich Ross (presidente dei Walt Disney Studios), Barry Diller (presidente dello IAC), Shepard Smith (giornalista televisivo) e Andy Cohen (personaggio televisivo).
