Trevor Adams interview

This is the original version of Daniel Trevor Adams interview, published here in Italian language.

Could you tell us something about you?
Sure, I was born and raised in Spring, Texas, a small town just about 20 miles north of Houston. I grew up poor as a child and my parents struggled with alcoholism and mental instabilities, while my brother, learning disabled, had problems of his own. I participated in sports while growing up, swimming and baseball, and attended a total of 13 different schools, K-12. I guess you can say we weren't very grounded, lol. I aspired to be something different when I reached adulthood but wasn't exactly sure what. Growing up as a teenager was the hardest thing that I ever had to do. Aside from the financial burdens it posed, I grew much more distant from my family and knew that their conservative views on just about any issue, would be the turning point in our relationship. My parents were unemployed for most of my teenage years and failed to get a grip on their lives, even up until now. I couldn't allow their burdens to continue to have a negative effect on me, so I moved out of the house when I was 18 and didn't really look back...

Why have you choose to become a model?
I first picked up a dumbbell when I was 7 years old; I did this off and on until I started lifting hardcore when I was 17; after graduating from High School. I would get a lot of looks etc while at the gym and was approached by someone that worked for a modeling agency here in Houston, who then put me in touch with a fitness photographer.

What do you remember about your first photo shoot as model?
My first photoshoot as a model, I remember working with a really nice photographer, photobyaaron, who really took his time and was very patient with me. I was very shy and modest and didn't know very much about the modeling world. I must admit, I am very grateful that I bumped into him first, as I know, I would have been taken advantage of with many other photographers, if I have not.
My first photoshoot was set to take place at a swimming pool and I was suppose to wear a speedo; I politely declined the photoshoot and started to walk away, when the photographer quickly assured me that this wouldn't be the deal breaking if I didn't want to shoot at a public pool. Long story short, he worked with me and assisted me getting into numerous National Fitness Pulbications and we've been working together ever since.

When you'll obtain your Bachelor's in Health Management, do you think you'll continue posing as a model? Did you enjoy it?
A degree will just be a degree, nothing that is going to take the place of anything else; its good to fall back on and I will continue to model, yes.

What do you like and dislike about your body?
I guess it depends on what kind of mood I am in, lol. Some days I think I look great in the gym and some days, I don't. It may have something to do with my diet over the last 24 hours, how much sleep I got, or the fact that I may need to rest, etc. I try to workout each area as much as I do the other, to be as proportioned as possible and I think I will be doing this the rest of my life. People say that I am my own worst critic but I think that it keeps me working harder. When you are content with the way you look, I think thats when you start to go south.

What do you look in a partner?
I look for someone that takes care of themselves in terms of working out and being health conscience and someone that has a lot to offer on the inside other than cockiness, lol. People say that looks don't matter; not so sure about that. If you had the financial means to buy any house in the world, I am sure you would want one that looks good on the outside and one that represented your wants and needs on the inside; well the same is true for a relationship.

What do you feel to know that a great number of guys look your pictures and your body?
Its always nice to hear compliments from people, especially when the compliments are coming from gym rats as well. I know that growing up, I was always inspired by gym bodies and it definitely motivated me to workout and train hard, so if people are just as motivated by looking at my pics, then that is quite an accomplishment and very flattering to say the least.

What do you like doing in your freetime?
Aside from working out and doing yard work, I enjoy fishing, biking, hiking, museums, and walking in the mall. I am always on the go and don't watch too much T.V. etc.

Whats's your projects for the future?
I have several projects coming up that I will elaborate more on in my future interview. These projects stem from more mags, editorials, fitness columns, my personal website (www. trevoradamsgym. com) and a movie or two. Thank you for having me. ;-)
